This posture in Sanscrit is called Bakasana and it holds a special place in my heart. It was the very first arm balance posture I ever learned. It took me years to find my balance. I actually didn’t think I would ever be able to balance in this pose but what I learned was that the only limitations were created by no one but myself. We are capable of so much more than we can ever imagine.

If you are enjoying crow pose (bakasana), it’s time to add the twist! Side crow (parsva bakasana) requires the same strength as crow but now we also add an element of our twisting flexibility. Here I add some more variations and tips for those who are interested.

Natarajasana (dancer pose) is a deeeeep front side opening posture. It’s also a tricky balance posture that demands our focus and attention. Use your breath to bring calmness into this process especially because moments of anxiety can easily arise during a posture like this one.
